Penn Barbell Club
Penn Barbell Club is Penn's community for people dedicated to the pursuit of strength. Our goal is to promote strength sports by providing information, coaching, and a supportive team atmosphere for all individuals, novice or experienced, who are interested in Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and bodybuilding on both a recreational and competitive level.
Introduction to Powerlifting with Darren Tomasso: This was a speaker event led by a member of our club who is a top ranked powerlifter in the country.
Nutrition with Darren Tomasso: This was an introduction to nutrition speaker event where we covered fats, proteins, carbs, and how one can structure their own diet.
Penn Barbell BYO: This was our first ever social event where we all had dinner together. It was really exciting to see the team bond over this event. 20 of our core members came
Mr/Ms Penn Recap Panel: (Nov 27 @ 630pm) Come learn from Enoch Lee, Greg Sacks, Joseph Mullin, Valentina Rodriguez, and Kevin Hayes as they discuss their training for the recent Mr/Ms Penn Bodybuilding Competition! This is a great event for anyone interested in fitness to learn how these competitors designed their nutrition and training for their show. You'll walk away with new knowledge which you can apply to pursue your own fitness goals.
Donuts and Deadlifts: (Dec 11 @ 8pm) Come take a break from studying, enjoy a wonderful Beiler's donut, and lift some weights with friends! This is a great opportunity to discuss any questions you have about fitness and your personal relationship with the gym. We'll have experiences lifters and athletes who can help you best formulate a plan to achieve your fitness goals that can fit into your busy Penn lifestyle.
We plan on recruiting at the next SAC fair which should be at the beginning of next semester.
